Seasonal Multi-Occupancy Housing
Location:
The place where project is placed is Darakeh district in Tehran. Mountain area and route Darakeh in northwest Tehran is one of the popular routes of mountaineer in Tehran With such a climate mild in the spring, hot and dry in the summer, pleasant in the autumn, and cold in the winter.
Project definition:
The house, a balanced volume with parallelepiped shape, can be entered by pedestrians from lower ground floor or through parking place in street level (upper level). In the social area located at hill side, Space longitudinally opens. South facing windows open the prism facilitating natural lighting.
Functionality and efficiency:
This architectural program has been divided in two areas (private and social) providing each one with different spaces.
Court yard and pool have an important specific weight in this project. Semi-open courtyard in summer has a good cross ventilation while passing the air from pool above make a good breezing for building in summer time. In winter closing the courtyard with the glass door in south part and glass louver above the building can use of warm courtyard in all day and night time.
Consumption of energy
• The strategy of semi-burying private areas has been adopted in order to take profit on land's insulating qualities and thus reduce energy consumption in conditioning.
• Rainwater captured through rain drains as well as melting snow (over heating coated glass of courtyard).
• Use of pre-made elements in forging and closing, reduce execution time and building waste.
• Natural ventilation, guaranteed by prevision of openings in all atmospheres, even the ground ones, and by a wide opening interior allowing the fresh air to flow.
