Winfried Heusler

From 1976 to 1981 Dr. Winfried Heusler studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University in Munich, Germany.
1991 the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, conferred a doctorate on him for his thesis on „daylight“.
From 2002 to 2004 he was a lecturer at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. In 2004 he was awarded a Professor h.c. degree by the “Architectural Faculty” of the University of Kiew, Ukraine.
From 1981 to 1998, he worked for the façade construction company GARTNER, Germany, first as a development engineer, then as manager for Research & Development, and finally as Head of the Aluminium Façades section worldwide.
Since 1998, Dr. Winfried Heusler has been with Schüco International in Bielefeld, Germany, as Technical Director for Aluminium and CTO (Chief Technical Officer). Initially responsible for systems technology, he now oversees international projects using special constructions and innovative solutions for complex façades as Senior Vice President for Engineering. Examples are Axel Springer Publishing House in Berlin, and Capricorn in Düsseldorf/Germany, McLaren Technology Centre in Woking/Great Britain, the Shanghai Tobacco Building in Shanghai/China, the Al-Tijaria Tower in Kuwait and Torres de Hércules in Cadiz/Spain.
